we don't need colour when there is no light

I never know what to do on Sunday's. After a lie in, a must on a Sunday, I know I should be doing something productive but my laziness takes over. I usually lie in bed watching Man Vs Food and CSI Sunday then moan that I haven't done anything with my day. Today I decided to dye some hair lilac because I haven't done it in so long. When I go to Australia I am thinking of dying the whole thing because I've always wanted to.

I bought my lilac hair dye from Bee Unique and the colour is Mystic Heather. I got recommended the site by someone on twitter (I can't remember who, if it was you please let me know). I don't bleach my hair before, I put it straight on my blonde hair. On the site it says the colour should last between 2 to 6 weeks. For me it lasts only a few washes, but I don't mind that at all. I really like the colour.

blue blooded murder of the english tounge

I've been meaning to put this post up for about a week, but I have basically spent all my free time sleeping. I have wanted to have my birthmark removed for a long time and last Wednesday was the big day. The operation went well and didn't hurt much at all but this still didn't stop me being a sweaty, shaky, pale mess after. I really do not cope well with needles or the thought of having my arm cut open. During the operation I didn't look at my arm at all so when I went to get the dressing changed on Friday I was a bit shocked when I caught sight of it. It's healing exactly as it should be but I still ended up crying down the phone to my mum in public which was a new low for me. I think I have cried more this week then I have in the last six months which is crazy because I have got exactly what I wanted.

#ldnbloggermeet

It's been a while since I did a post about #ldnbloggermeet, but of course it is still going ahead. Here are the details:

Date - Saturday 6th October
Time - 1:30pm - 4:30pm
Bloggers - link here

You may notice that the venue is the same as #ldnxmasbloggermeet. It was such a good venue and everyone seemed to like it so I thought it would be good to go back. There are some amazing cocktails and lovely food [menu] and it is in a great location. We have our own spot in the pub so it will be great to mingle to get to know each other. I get ridiculously nervous talking in front of large groups of people, so if anyone has anything they would like to talk about on the day, please let me know.

At 4:30pm the room that we have booked is opened to the public. The pub has said that you are more then welcome to stay and they can sort out a table for you if you wish. It is also really close to Regent Street and Oxford Street, so great for some shopping after.

Please let your blogger friends know as this will be the last blogger meet I organise for a while as I'm jetting off to Australia very soon and it would be great to meet as many of you as possible. I am also looking for some sponsors like previous events [here, here and here], so if you or anyone you know is interested please let me know.  You can get in touch with me by email: the-daisychain@hotmail.co.uk or on twitter @emmaharold.

walk away or try harder

I love blogging for so many reasons but the main one being the people that I get to meet. I met Laura at the very first #ldnbloggermeet that I organised and we have been great friends ever since. Last weekend we went for a 4 day break to Cornwall. Laura is one of the kindest people I know and she was lovely enough to buy me this infinity bracelet. I haven't taken it off since; it's been in the swimming pool and in the shower and it's still looking as good as new. Thank you Laura for the lovely gift.

let's see if it's true

I spent this weekend climbing through the trees, going on long bike rides, going down rapids and feeding ducks whilst catching up with some friends and consuming huge amounts of junk food and alcohol. I spent this weekend at Centre Parcs in Elveden and had a brilliant time. I wanted to do a few outfit posts whilst I was there but it turns out I spent a lot of my time in my Zaggora Hotpants or onesie.

sleep less, dream more

I literally love my room and if I see something pretty I can't help but buy it. A little while ago I was reading Faye's blog and saw a post on these lovely scrabble cushions made by Stacey and I had to put in an order. Mine arrived the other day and it now has a permanent place on my bed. Last orders for these amazing scrabble cushions is tomorrow (14th!!) so put your order in quickly if you want one too.

I also treated myself to some new bed sheets today. I have been after something floral for a long time and I found these in Primark for £15, which I thought was a total bargain.

Once again I have been pretty busy which includes a serious lack of sleep. Next weekend I have made no plans and I am going to keep it that way. I'm planning a day wrapped in my new duvet set surrounded by candles with a few good films to watch. Any good film recommendations to add to my collection?

the secret of happiness is freedom, the secret of freedom is courage

It feels like forever since I last updated my blog, but a lot has been going on. I wrote a post a little while ago about how important I think it is to follow your dreams. My dream? To live in Australia. I have been saying for as long as I can remember that I will go back to Australia for at least a year but I didn't ever make any plans. That has all changed now. Since this post I have put my dream in to action and I will be leaving England on the 19th November this year.

At the beginning of August I literally thought 'fuck it'!! At 2am I applied for my working holiday visa and the very next day I received an email to say I had been accepted. I then made an appointment with STA Travel on 18th August to book my flights and insurance. It was only after I had been granted my visa, paid for insurance and my flight that I decided to tell my parents I was leaving. Note to self: don't fiddle with your top around your belly when you tell your parents you have something important to tell them!! My parents were shocked I am leaving so soon but happy for me, just as I knew they would be.

After making some life changing decisions the last few weeks I have found that I am more of a wimp then I first though. If I decided to do this all a few years ago I am sure I wouldn't have been as nervous about it as I am. It's quite scary to go to a country where you only know a handful of people, but I try not to think about all that. It was a long time ago now that I was talking to Lauren [blog & twitter] on twitter and she said something that has stuck with me ever since - "don't think, just do"! Obviously, I'm planning as much of my trip as possible but when it comes to thinking about how scary it might be and start worrying about it, I stop and push these thoughts out my head. After all, worrying wont change the outcome and I'll be able to deal with anything as and when it happens.

So that's it, the count down has begun. 11 weeks and 2 days to complete my ever growing to do list. I've never felt so unorganised in my life! Please note: moany tweets and lack of posts will only be temporary. You can read about how to get a working holiday visa much cheaper and my experience of STA Travel on my other blog.
